Exercising 5 Senses (29March2021)
Special thanks to Alvina who led us to exercise our 5 senses at Tai Po Kau 大埔滘Nature Reserve. The 20-min uphill walk in silence allowed me to appreciate the magnificent sweet gum 楓 香trees, the pretty but poisonous wild taro野芋 flower. We sat on rocks at river streams to meditate and connect with self and nature. We recalled our personal experience with nature, listened to the sounds, felt the air, touched the water, tasted tea and snacks. On my way back, I took a moment to touch and feel the sweet gum tree. Along the red trail, we marvelled at the huge vines 樹藤.
Tai Po Kau offers a huge bio-diversity along many trails (red, blue, brown, yellow) to be explored throughout the year. I will be back to spot salamander瘰螈, fireflies etc.
